If we can't all get together at Aunt Peggy's for Thanksgiving at least we could try this free 'blogging' contact. Don't be afraid. I've posted a few old W. J. Reid boat pictures but intend to post more family picures etc.

This one so far all Northwester. Really nice boat, Nor'wester. Real old salt, slower, comfortable extremely seaworthy, etc. etc. Built as Chiro, 1932 by W. J. Reid of course. Nice letters from the owner in PA. When boats were boats and men were men.

But I guess this site (blog) will be more for Reid boats (and I hereby honorably nominate another Winthrop built boat "Amanda"). Amanda was built by Lennie Nelson, first marriage father in law of my brother Jim Reid and Grandfather of Amy (Reid) Spencer, Jim's daughter. I knew this impressive boat and Lennie well and will write more about them when I post to the blog.
